What does it take to create the perfect page? Or do you need to improve an existing page? What is the business value of this keyword? What can you gain by ranking high for that keyword? How to measure the “business potential” of a keyword Many marketers determine the value of keywords by mapping them to the so-called buyer journey,

the process people go through before making a purchase. Conventional wisdom holds that the earlier people are in their journey, the less likely they are to buy. Here we introduce popular buyer's journey frameworks. Top of the Funnel (TOFU ) – People are looking for general information about the topic. Middle of the Funnel (MOFU) – People are researching available solutions to a problem. Bottom of the Funnel (BOFU) – People are looking to purchase a specific product or service. TOFU keywords tend to have high search volumes but low conversion rates (e.g. "keyword research", 5,700 searches per month). On the other hand, BOFU keywords are very lucrative, but have much lower search volumes (e.g. "best keyword research tool", 800 searches per month).
