The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, José Luis Escudero, rejects the statements of the 'popular' when they talk about non-compliance with home help and remembers that "this government made the law more flexible and now, three weeks after signing the agreement, it pays 40%, what happens is that some PP mayors do not want to sign these agreements, such as those of Cuenca and Guadalajara”
He assures that the PP “lies and creates smoke screens” so that there is no talk of actions such as increasing the number of places for moderate dependents from 700 to 2,000.
The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Ireland Email List Group in the Cortes of Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Escudero, has wanted to “rectify” each of the statements that the 'popular' deputy Pilar Martínez has made in the parliamentary headquarters about the delays in the payment of the home help.
Escudero recalled how the government of President García-Page has modified the legislation so that the town councils, once the agreement is signed with the different councils, charge 40% in the first three weeks. Deadlines that contrast “very much” with the 5 or 6 months if not a year of delay that Cospedal had, which required that it be justified in order to collect.
But, as the socialist deputy recalled, the problem is that "some PP mayors, with tremendous irresponsibility, are refusing to sign these agreements in order to denounce that home help is not paid", and that is happening with the cities of Guadalajara or Cuenca. And he has assured that "their mayors are being asked to sign it as soon as possible, but what a coincidence, they do not find space in their agendas to ratify it."
And he clarified, “91% of the home help in the agreements that have been signed has already been paid” and recalled the fact that “when President García-Page arrived he found that Cospedal had not paid even one only euro of home help for 2015.”

“Smoke screens to avoid talking about new realities”
In response to what the Cospedal government meant as a “scourge” to the welfare state in Castilla-La Mancha, Escudero has expressed his satisfaction with the latest decisions taken by the regional government to improve “that welfare state and what it affects "the most punished are the elderly and moderately dependent."
Escudero was alluding to the decisions to increase the number of places in SEPAP, the Service for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy, for dependency care from 700 to 2,000. This measure, he recalled, will allow the collaborating entities to hire 68 professionals. The second measure, which he has also echoed, is to double investments for the maintenance of senior centers, to which 750,000 euros will be allocated, compared to 330,000 for Cospedal in 2014.
